I'm weak on Ford's, but all cars are pretty much alike. You will have a tension pulley on the serpentine belt that is probably spring loaded. It will be the pulley probably towards the top of the motor with nothing on it. Some are spring loaded and you pry them away from the direction they are pushing on the belt. Some are fixed and adjust up and down with a long bolt. Either type is fairly easy to change, just make sure you know how the belt is routed or look on the hood or radiator support and see it there is a routing diagram.

how to change fan belt
It uses a spring loaded belt tensioner. The tensioner is autmatically set. IF there is not enough tension, then replace the tensioner. The belt may be stretched and need replacment however.
huh?
Hi their should be a diagrahm on or around the fan shroud
The 2001 Ford Taurus has a cooling fan that is controlled by a relay. This relay is located on the radiator.
there is no fan belt. the fan is electric-motor powered.
The 1988 Ford Taurus cooling fan relay switch can be found on the front drivers side quarter panel. The fan relay switch should be labeled as such.
