not for sure if its the 289 but most carburated engines have a fuel pump on the driver side of the side of the motor;it has two metal line that bolt into it; one inlet and one return there side by side just take those two lines off then the two bolts off that hold the pump on,then bolt the new pump on and install the lines in the correct places

The 1973 Mustang has a mechanical fuel pump driven by the engine. It is not electric so it has no fuse.
The 1994 Ford Mustang fuel pump relay switch is located below the fuel injector pump. The relay switch should be labeled as such.
