I have a '97 grand marquis and have changed the headlight bulbs. (This is not the same as changing the lens assembly.) Simply open the hood and look at the plastic cover just inside the front of the hood opening above each headlight. There is a small plastic cover over each one that pops out easily, allowing access to the bulb sockets. Turn the socket a little less than 1/4 turn counter clockwise, and remove it from the headlight assembly. Pull out the old bulb and replace it with a new bulb. Put the socket back into the assembly and turn it clockwise to lock it back into place. Put the plastic cover back and close the hood.
