Buy a Haynes service manual and follow the instructions. I did and it wasn't too difficult.

To change a headlight bulb on a Peugeot 205 safely prop the hood open. Locate the front headlight housing and wire harness. Twist and remove the bulb from the housing then unplug it from the harness. Replace the bulb.
OK here goes.
This engine uses wet liners. So when you remove the cylinder head you have to be very careful not to disturb the wet liners.
Its a straightforward job that should take about 3-4 hrs max for an average DIY car mechanic. The cylinder head is alloy and light enough to be easily lifted off by one person.
Remove the old gasket and carefully scrape off deposits from cylinder head and cylinder block faces (careful, aluminum alloy is quite soft)
Clean any oil off both faces.
Replace only with a new 'repair' gasket from your Citroen dealership
I advise to apply some hardening sealant (green hermetite) to the top of each wet liner and around the block face. This should help the new gasket to make a good seal in the critical areas between each cylinder pot. Apply the new repair gasket onto the block and push down into place. Apply some hardening sealant to the areas on the cylinder block face where the liners seat, there will be a 'circle' witness mark to guide you when placing the hardening sealant
I advise that while you have the cylinder head off that you replace the O rings on the base of the wet liners. These are the thinnest weediest O rings and I advise to replace using a new set (4 pcs) , again order from the dealership. If you cant obtain these then buy a good quality automotive silicon sealer. The reason I advise to replace these O rings is that if the engine has been severely overheated as usually happens when the gasket blows the O rings on the wet liners can get very hot and expand and this will cause a sealing problem, better to replace. Its easily done.
How to remove the wet liners - Drain the water from the cylinder block by removing hoses at thermostat housing. Water remaining in the block can be soaked up by using a sponge and paper towel. A liner is easily removed by grasping the liner and rocking slightly back and forth. First remove the liners from the two pots that have the pistons at the top of stroke, by pulling and slightly rotating a liner you will release it from the block. Examine the weedy O ring at the step on the liner, remove this O ring and thoroughly clean and degrease the seating area. Make sure that you write down and mark up each liner you remove in some way (permanent marker) according to its position in the block and also remember which is the front and back of the liner viewed from the top so you can later replace it exactly as it came out
Replace the O ring or use a good quality automotive silicon sealant and carefully apply the sealant around the seating area. Make sure that the corresponding seating area in the block is cleaned and free from oil (use paper towel and spirit cleaner)
The liner can now be offered back into place over the piston, the compression rings need be carefully compressed by hand to allow the liner to be slid back down into position into the block. Seating the liner should cause some of the silicon sealant to squidge out at the base of the liner if you see this you know that the liner has been seated correctly.
Slowly rotate the crank to raise the remaining two pistons and work on these two liners as previous.
Finally refit the camshaft, etc
The above should be carried out with reference to a workshop manual , eg: Haynes Citroen. The manual is required unless you are an expert in this procedure. Halfords will order it in for you or you can buy it over the 'net.
Read the relevant sections on engine dismantling before you start work.
