The headlight in my Vetter fairing isn't too difficult to change. The chrome ring on the front comes off. There is a tab that can easily be felt on the bottom of the chrome ring, just to the right of center (when looking at the headlight). Push in on the tab and rotate the chrome ring counterclockwise. (The tab doesn't move, only the ring does) Twist it about two inches (as far as it will go) then pull the chrome ring away from the headlight. I replaced mine with a CPI H4 7" conversion headlight. I think it retails for about $50, but I paid less at the local motorcycle shop. It includes a replaceable vibrationproof H4 bulb.
Initially Made in USA...more recent moved production of some to Asia
I have a 1976 Goldwing with faring, it has the chrome cover over the head light, I need to change the light. I can't find a way to get the headlamp out of faring to change it. Please help, P. Cox
It depends which fairing you have. The most common ones have a tab in the trim ring that you push with a screw driver and simultaneuosly unscrew the trim ring like a jelly jar lid. There are older styles that you replace like the ones in an old car. Remove trim and then remove headlight, very easy, with just a Phillips head screw driver.
