if it is an automatic transmission it is a real nitemare. you have to remove the two transmission coolent lines from the radiator, then you have to slide the starter out through the front of the motor, in between the motor mount and the engine, it will only fit if you get it just right.
The starter relay on a 1992 Pathfinder is mounted between the transmission and engine block. The starter uses a gear drive to crank the engine and help it start.

On my 94 pathfinder its on the starter. an easy way to find out is to follow the positive battery cable and see where it posts to. BTW if the solenoid is on the starter you may need to buy a whole new starter, It was like $90 with a core trade in at autozone

What solonoid?? If it is the starter solnoid, you have to take the starter off.
