It is a little hard, but it can be done.
First you have to disconnect the exhaust manifold from the engine, so you can reach the pipe under the manifold and take off the two nuts on the right side where the thermostat is. Disconnect it and take out the thermostat which will come out with a hard plastic tube. when u put it back in make sure that the perforation in the plastic is alined with perforation of the side metal part (this is very important) put the metal pipe back and tighten the nuts put the manifold back. That's it. By the way...that pipe where the thermostat is, that one comes out easy once you take out the two nut. last I dint put antifreeze yet until made sure it was not leaking, I put water. When I saw it was not leaking then i put the antifreeze.
I wonder which engine we're speaking of here. The thermostat in my 2.2 liter OHV engine is right up front on the passenger side of the engine. Just pop off the radiator hose and the housing and therm drop right out. Installation is roughly the reverse, although you'll need to add more coolant and possibly bleed the system.
the thermostat stuck shut. will cause the car to over heat at ant temp!

In a 2004 Pontiac Sunfire, there are two oxygen sensors. One would be located in the exhaust before the catalytic converter. The other is located in the exhaust after the catalytic converter.

add a super charger or swap for a bigger motor, maybe make the vehicle lighter or if you really wanna go fast get an SV650S red.
Trick question there is no 2004 Pontiac sunbird. 1994 sunbirds which is the last year have the oil filter by the right side wheel well, this is similar for the "Sunfire" of later years.
