How do you change a transmission filter on a 1999 Volvo S70?
Doesn't have a filter.
On a 1999 Mercury Cougar automatic transmission trying to change the transmission fluid you took off the pan but there is no filter and very little transmission fluid came out Where is the filter?
That transmission is supposed to be service by a drain plug like you have on your motor. it's on the bottom of the transmission. as for the filte, it's located INSIDE of the transmission. the only way to remove the filter on a CD4E transmission is to physically remove the transmisssion from the vehicle and take it apart. Ford does not provide a procedure to service the transmission filter seperately from the transmission overhaul.
NO! The filter on your Accord is a non-maintenance item. It is inside the transmission and the unit must be disassembled to gain access to the filter. It is only replaced when the transmission is rebuilt. However, you need to change your transmission fluid every 60,000 miles. Caution!! Use only Honda ATF Z1 transmission fluid, and nothing else. Not a substitute or a universal fluid.
The transmission oil filter is in the transmission drip pan under the driver's side close to the front tire. there is no transmission filter. there is how ever a oil filter which is located on your bottom right or possibily left side of your motor. the transmission however holds trans mission fluid which can be drained!
the location of the transmission filter is inside the transmission and in order to replace the filter you need to drop the transmission and open it. the filter is not in the transmission pan like most older cars and can not be changed by some one that dosent know a little about how to rebuilt a transmission.it might be better to get the transmission flushed.
I have a 1999 DeVille and the dip stick for the auto Transmission is located on the drivers side, under the air filter. You must remove the air filter and the holder in order to get to the transmission dip stick. You can add fluid here, but that is about all you can do. The transmission is sealed and you have to take it to a service provider and have the fluid and filter changed…
