very carefully
There are several steps to changing a water pump in a 2001 GMC Yukon Denali. You must first make sure the engine is cool, and drain the radiator of coolant. You will then need to remove the air duct and housing. You will also need to move or remove the radiator hose, radiator fan shroud, serpentine belt from the alternator, water pump pulley, and old pump gasket?æto access the water pump. You can then replace the water pump, and then replace the parts that you removed.
fuel pump removal and installation 2000 GM Yukon Denali
The 2000 GMC Yukon Denali fuel pressure regulator is located on the back of the fuel injector pump. The fuel injector pump is located on the top of the engine.
I had mine replace a year ago which ran $745.00
dont be lazy and just go ask your mechanic
You must first drop the fuel tank. while the tank is down clean it out.
If the vehicle tries to start but sounds like it is not getting gas; try to change out the relay for the fuel pump (you can usually switch it with the AC relay). This is a quick check and is a lot less expensive than a fuel pump change out. remove fuel tank.
If you can do the work yourself, it will cost you around $100 to replace a Yukon water pump. If you take it to a service center, it will cost at least $200 more.
it mounted in the water pump on the lower radiator hose
the water pump is part of the timing belt or chain. you have to take the belt or chain off to change the water pump. if you change the water pump, change the belt too.
Possible Fuel SuggestionsYes, it could be the fuel pump, the fuel filter, and/or any other gas related parts. I have a 2002 Yukon XL and it stalls when I run at a high speed (like on an interstate). I've been told its my gas cap not venting properly so my fuel pump isn't getting enough gas. Good luck!
