The switch is held on by a Phillips screw behind the lock mechanism. Remove the steering column plastic housing,and then lower the steering columnyou will se just behind the lock a nylon switch.. That's your ign switch...
If you need to remove the lock Cylinder that has to be drilled out from on top of the unit, if you need specifics I can supply them..

Attach the wiring harness to the and of your 1986 Chevrolet Caprice ignition switch. Slide the ignition switch into the ignition slot. Tighten the ignition switch with the retaining ring.
Check that the oil pressure is correct. The oil sending switch or the wiring for the switch is the most likely cause.
