In general, by chemical reaction to convert atoms to molecules and chemical, electrolytic, and/or photolytic dissociation to convert molecules to atoms. The details depend on the specific elements and compounds.

In order to find the number of atoms in a molecule you must convert the molecules mass to molar mass, then convert to number of atoms by use of Avagadros number.

Take for instance 5grams of Table salt (NaCl). First we need to get Molar mass in order to determine number of atoms. 1 mole of NaCl is molar mass of one mole of Na (23) + molar mass of one mole of Cl (35) which is equal to = 58grams. Then we divide the mass of our 5grams of Table salt (5) by mass of one mole of our molecule, (58), to get molar mass of our molecule in grams. .08620689. One mole of anything= Avagadros# or 1/1*(6.022*10^23)/1 So for our molecule the equation will look like

5/58*(6.022*10^23)/1=5.1913*10^23.

1 mole = 6.022 x 1023 molecules (or any other thing)

If number of molecules are known, divide by 6.022 x 1023 molecules/mole. The answer will be the number of moles.

Do atoms or molecules change identity when a change of state occurs?

yes

What makes a chemical reaction different from a physical change?

In a chemical reaction, atoms are rearranged, such that some atoms get out of some molecules and join other molecules.

All atoms are not same but molecules are same what is it?

chemical and physical change.

What makes a change chemical?

Formation of new types of molecules or atoms.

Why and how do you think atoms combine to form molecules?

Molecules that combine to form larger more complex molecules are called monomers.

Why isn't the freezing point of a liquid a chemical property?

Because when something freezes, the atoms and molecules don't undergo a chemical change, they go through a physical change. By this, I mean that the individual atoms and molecules lose kinetic energy (energy that makes you move) in order to freeze. There is no chemical change here. Rather, the molecules and atoms are slowing down physically.

Is exploding a firecracker chemical change?

Yes, because there is a rearanging of molecules and atoms.

Do atoms change during a physical change?

Nope. All that happens in chemical reactions is that atoms are rearranged into new molecules or compounds. You can't destroy atoms in a chemical reaction so whatever you begin with is what you end up with.

What was made fist molecules or atoms?

Atoms existed before molecules do. Without atoms, molecules could not happen.

Changes of state are considered physical changes because?

Physical changes are changes that don't change the structure of the individual molecules. Though heating a liquid to a gas will change how the molecules are bound to each other, the individual molecules will not change. This is contrasted from a chemical change, where the atoms of the molecules are rearranged.

Explain chemical changes in terms of the structure and motion of atoms and molecules?

a chemical change destroys the old atoms and molecules to make completely new ones and a completely new substance.
