Remove wheels
Reinstall 2 lug nuts to hold rotor in place
Remove caliper mounting bolts
Look for a bleeder screw at the top of caliper( looks like a small bolt with a hole in it) carefully open the bleeder.
Place a small hose over top of the bleeder and place the other end in a cup partly filled with break fluid.
Remove the caliper
Carefully use a large c-clamp to retract the piston in to the caliper
Close the bleeder screw
Remove and replace the pads (taking care to place the friction material side of the pads towards the friction surface of the rotor)
Replace the caliper over the pads
Insert and tighten the caliper mounting bolts
Repeat for the other side
Top off break fluid in master cylinder
PUMP BRAKE PEDAL TO SET PADS AGAINST ROTOR PRIOR TO MOVING VEHICLE
Go to dealer...and they will change them to early.
In CT USA, a garage would charge 1 hour labor to replace the rear brake pads on that Mountaineer.
Brake pads? I have a 1997 Nissan 4 WD pickup and it has rear drum brakes. I didn't know they ever came with pads in the rear.
Brake pads on a 1997 Toyota Celica are changed by removing the wheels, unbolting the calipers, and removing the old pads from the calipers. The caliper piston must be pushed in before the new pads can be installed.

you buy brake pads and you change them
Lift the car, remove the tire, remove the brake shoe/caliper, and remove the old brake pads. Put in the new brake pads, replace the brake shoe/caliper, replace the tire, and lower the car.
