If you want to simply remove the existing coolant and replace it with new, the procedure is very simple. If the cooling system needs to be flushed, do that first and then follow these steps to change coolant.
1. Uncap the coolant reservoir. Open lower drain plug. It is located on the lower edge of the radiator on the driver's side of the vehicle. Turn the plug several times to open the plug fully. It is made of plastic, so be careful when using any tools to turn it.
2. After the coolant has completely drained, close the drain plug.
3. Pour 50/50 water/coolant mix into the coolant reservoir. It will take a while for the reservoir to empty into the engine cooling system.
4. After adding approximately one gallon, start the engine. This will pull more coolant into the system.
5. Continue adding coolant until the level reaches and remains at the "full" level.
6. Cap the coolant reservoir.
To bleed the coolant on a 1997 Olds Achieva, start by ensuring the engine is cool and remove the radiator cap. Next, run the engine with the heater set to maximum heat and let it idle until the thermostat opens, allowing coolant to circulate. As the coolant level drops, add more coolant to the radiator and keep an eye on the overflow reservoir. Once the coolant is circulating steadily and no more air bubbles are visible, replace the radiator cap securely.

Low on coolant? defective sensor should be located on back side of radiator approx. 1/3 down from top
The coolant level switch on a 95 Achieva has a sticking problem. If you tap the coolant tank near the sensor the light will go out
Flush the coolant, change the coolant resevoir and add new coolant, it doesn't hurt to change the hoses either
where is the blower motor located a a 1997 oldsmobile achieva
The heater hoses.
coolant on the floor
Which engine is in this car?
no.
The transmission sifter interlock solenoid location on a 1997 Oldsmobile Achieva is on the valve body. To reach it the drain pan and filter has to be removed.
A 1997 Oldsmobile Achieva may experience leaks from several common areas, including the engine oil pan, valve cover gasket, and transmission seals. Other potential leak sources include the coolant system, particularly at the radiator or hoses, and the power steering system. Regular inspection and maintenance can help identify and address these leaks early, preventing more significant issues.
