A 1994 does not have a control module on the transfer case. But it does have a 4x4 Actuator on the front differential.
Just changed mine today in a 99 GMC K2500 Suburban 4WD and it took 3 quarts
Its on the front of the crankshaft in front of the timing chain.
there is a drain (on the bottom) and fill plug (toward the top) for the front differential. 1.6 quarts of 75W90 GL-4 or GL5 gear oil.
The front differential is an "open" differential. No limited slip components there.
The front differential uses 80w90.
If it is the rear sensor, it will be in the differential. If it is a front sensor, it will be located at each front wheel.
It's an open front differential if it is stock. So is the rear differential
Unless you have a 4x4 or 6x6 unit, there is no front differential.

You must remove the transmission, the front differential is built right in.
