- Relieve the fuel pressure
- Remove the rear seat
- Remove the fuel pump/fuel level sending unit access cover.Disconnect the electrical connector from the fuel pump/fuel level sending unit assembly and set the cover and wiring harness aside
- Hold the sides of the fuel line quick disconnect connector,completely depress the connector tabs and pull out the tube inserted in the retainer.Disconnect both fuel lines
- Remove the fuel pump/fuel level sending unit six mounting screws
- Carefully meneuver the fuel pump/fuel level sending unit assembly out fuel tank
- The fuel level float and sending unit are delicate.Using a screwdriver,release the locking tabs on the chamber flange and remove it from the fuel pump/fuel level sending unit chamber
- Carefully pull the fuel tank temperature sending unit wiring harness part way out of the fuel pump/fuel level sending unit.Do not try to disconnect it
- Using a screwdriver,release the snap fit portion and pull on the fuel level sending unit and remove it
- Disconnect the fuel pump electrical connector hold the sides of the fuel pump line quick disconnect connector,completely depress the connector tabs and pull out the tube inserted in the retainer.Disconnect both fuel pump fuel lines from the fuel level sending unit assembly
- Carefully pull the fuel level sending unit assembly part way straight up out of the chamber
- Using a screwdriver,release the two locking tabs and remove the fuel filter from the chamber.Remove the fuel pump bracket and pull out the filter
- Pull down and remove the fuel pump from the fuel filter housing
