I have an 89 pickup and had to change the fuel pump by unbolting the fuel tank
and lowering it...The fuel pump is built into the top of the fuel tank....The hardest
part is lowering the tank and the rest is pretty easy.... There are just a couple
of bolts to take out and a couple of wires to connect to switch the old one for
the new one ....When you take the tank down you will see the top of the fuel
pump bolted in the top of the tank just remove the old pump and reinstall the
new pump in the same way you take the old pump out.... A couple of bolts to
lower the tank a couple of bolts to take the old pump out a couple of wires to
remove and a couple of fuel lines to remove....Then just do the opposite to put it
all back together........I hope this helps you with this:):):):):):)
P.S. Take the old pump out first and take it with you to get the new one....This
way if the new pump is a little different you can ask any questions you might
have while your at the parts store......:):):):):):):)

most fuel pumps on most cars are located inside the gas/fuel tank, unless there is an alternative fuel pump added post factory.
You have to drop the fuel tank. The pump is located inside the tank.

Not easy at all. Fuel tank must be removed.
