1. Disconnect power to oven.
2. Remove the 2 screws located in front on top of microwave securing grille.
3. Remove grille (slide to right then out).
4. Remove the screw securing metal light cover.
5. Remove the filter and metal light cover.
6. Remove screws securing bulb holder (if needed).
7. Remove light bulb
Install new light bulb (20 watt halogen do not touch with skin).
Reverse the above instructions for assembly

∙ 12y agoMany older microwaves had a small door on the side to access the light. You simply open it up then push the bulb and give it a 1/4 turn and it should pop out. If there is no door you will have to remove the case. To do this remove all screws on the back bottom and sides that hold the cover on and slide it off. DO NOT TOUCH ANYTHING OTHER THAN THE BULB! There are hazardous voltages inside and a good shock will knock you out or kill you. If you are not comfortable with the risks take it to an electrical shop or just live with the blown bulb.
