on the bottom of the engine there is a circle of metal with 8 or so 10mm nuts. loosen each one and the circle will come off. be careful because all the oil will come out too.

have an oil pan underneath when doing this. once all the oil is drained, put the circle back on and tighten the bolts.

its a good idea to replace the gasket that goes between the circle and the engine at this time.

once its all back together, in the engine compartment there is a round tube coming up out of the generator/alternator stand. the cap will say oel. this is where you pour your new oil in.

What is gas mileage of 1964 beetle?

The gas mileage of a 1964 bug depends on if you have had a new engine put into it, on average a 1964 bug has a 1450cc-1500cc engine in it. Meaning it will have around 50-56 hp. The lower the horse power, the smaller the engine. If you have a 10% smaller engine you get about 6% higher gas mileage. If your slug bug has an ac kit it lowers gas mileage by 3. On average a 1964 bug will have 28-36 mph

Can you change oil filter after changing oil to a 1970 Volkswagen bug?

As far as I remember from my old V Dub days is there wasn't an oil filter but a screen located at the drainplug. Therefore you would lose your oil by removing it. If it has an after market filter you should be able to change it with little spillage.
