Almost exactly the same way as any other car/truck/motorcycle With the Solara it helps to lift the front end a few inches so you can move easily under the car. Use the car's jack if you don't have access to a separate floor jack. Once under the car you'll see a drain plug on the bottom of the oil pan. Slide a suitable container under that plug and remove the plug. Allow all oil to drain then replace the plug. Locate your oil filter. It's on the front of the engine, easy to see with the 4 cylinder engine, hiding under the exhaust manifold on the V6. Remove the filter and replace with a new one. Remove the oil cap and pour in the required amount of new oil based on instructions in your owners manual. Notice the V6 (not sure about the 4 cyl) uses an energy conserving 5W-20 or 5W-30 oil. Be sure and use the proper weight and amount (again consult your owners manual). Once you've poured in the required amount (5 quarts) start the car and allow to run a few seconds while you check underneath for leaks. Shut the engine off and allow to sit 5 minutes or so then check the oil level on the dipstick. If it's fine then you're almost ready to drive. Time to reset the oil change reminder. Turn on your ignition (but don't start the engine) and look at the odometer. If it isn't set at 'total' miles toggle it to that mode (not trip mileage). Now turn the key off again. Hold the odometer reset button in and turn on the key. Watch the odometer. The mileage numbers will turn to dashes --------. When all the numbers have been replaced the system is reset for another 4500 miles. Cheers

See answers already posted to "How do you change oil on a 2004 Toyota Solara," "How do you change oil on a 2006 Toyota Solara," "How do you change oil on a 2007 Solara." They're the same as the '08. The short answer is, oil changes are the same on almost all vehicles. 1. Place a suitable container (5 quarts or more for the Solara) under the car. 2. Remove the drain plug and let the oil empty into it. 3. Replace the drain plug and move the container until it's under the filter 4. Spin the filter off (in the case of the Solara it's wise to place rags or paper towels under the filter to prevent a mess on the floor) 5. Replace filter 6. Add five quarts of oil 7. Start engine, check for leaks 8. Reset maintenance light. Cheers

For a 1999 Solara v6, the oil capacity is 5 qts. of 5W30.

The Solara oil filter is a common spin on type. Just turn it to the left to unscrew (use a filter wrench if it's too tight). Replace with the appropriate part number. Don't tighten the filter too much. If you just go a third of a turn or so after the gasket contacts the machined engine surface you'll be able to remove it easily without tools the next time you change your oil. Cheers
Check your owners manual. I think you'll discover you need 5 quarts with filter change. Cheers
Gonna need to be a little more specific, but I can tell you it does take 5w30 oil.
