A person can change the back shocks on a 1995 Chevy Caprice by unmounting them from the upper lower mounts. The shocks can then be removed from the vehicle and new shocks put in their place.
The shocks only control the bounce of the springs. The springs actually control the ride height.
You will need to change the gearbox, swing arm, back wheel and, probably, brake arrangement and shocks.
I paid 79.99 each for my back struts then had my dad change them for me. Pretty simple actually
they are not shocks, they are called struts. you would have to remove the back seat and the bedding below the back window. three nuts per strut. its easy! it shouldn't take you know more then an hour per side.
Remove the bolts. Replace shock. Tighten bolts to the manufacturers recommended torque setting.
lubricate the back where the old shocks used to be and ask a Audi dealer for A4 shocks
Jump up and down on the back bumper. The car should not continue to bounce when you stop. You can also check the shocks from under the car, just above the read axle by the tires. Often when shocks go bad, you will see oil residue on the body of the shock.

Jack up the car. Unscrew two bolts in the rear bearing arms, then unscrew the top bolts. You will need to take out the back of the rear seat in order to get to these. Then the shocks can be taken out and new installed.
