Hi, You shouldbe able to remove the screws that hold the taillight assembly in place and remove the light assembly. You might ned to use a small bit of force if they haven't been removed in a while, just do it gently enough not to damage anything. The bulbs are able to be removed when you have the assy removed. To remove a bulb you turn them so the tabs on the bulb line up with the slots and remove the bulb. I found that when I removed my bulbs that the insde was incredebly dirty so I removed them all and washed the assy out and after it had dried replaced the bulbs. I also was able to find brighter bulbs. God luck and happy fixing. Steve H.
Open tailgate. Remove 2 torx screws in side of taillight. wiggle taillight out, Remove hex screws that hold bulb assembly in taillight. change bulb, Reassemble
pop the hood and unscrew the plastic caps that hold the bulbs and and replace with new bulbs
Changing a taillight on 1992 ExplorerGo to www.fleet.ford.com/maintenance/owners_manuals/results.asp at this website you can type in the year make model of car and get a Adobe owners manual. The owners manual has a section on maintenance that walks you through changing interior and exterior lights including the taillights. Good luck. unfortunately, the web site will not allow you to enter 1992 as a model year.
my (early production) 1995 OEM hardtop fit on my 1991 Tracker. They didn't change very much in this period. I think Yes, it will fit
Remove the light assy then turn the bulbs countereclockwise to remove the bulbs.
It is practically impossible to reach up behind the dash to change the bulbs. Remove the trim around the instrument panal and you should be able to pull it out enough to change the bulbs. You may have to disconnect the speedometer to get it out far enough.
Phillips screwdriver undo screws take off plastic pannel, Push bulb and turn to get it out. Be careful the bulbs like to break when taking them out.
Hi, Your 1992 Tracker holds 4.5 quarts of oil including what is in the flter. Hope this helps and now you know that when you go to a mass oil change place and they tell you that they use 5 quarts, tell them you want the extra 1/2 quart! Steve H.
yes they do have abs brakes
Open the trunk, back where the taillight is should be an access panel. Remove the panel and the light harness should twist out.
you open the trunk. Pull back the carpet covering the back side of the taillights. Remove the plastic wing nuts, about six or eight. Slide the whole taillight assembly to the rear. The bulbs pop out of the assembly for an easy replacement.
to tow a 1992 Geo Tracker you must either disconnect the drive shaft or use a tow dolly and tow it backwards or you will damage the transmission
