Remove left front wheel. At the front of the wheel well there is an access door for the battery. Remove it by either turning the fasteners 1/4 turn or, if there are push fasteners, pop up the centers of the fasteners and then you can pull out the whole fastener. Disconnect the cables, then disconnect the battery hold-down and remove the battery. You may have to remove the battery heater blanket if there is one.
The owners manual claims that it is possible to remove the battery without removing the wheel, just turn the front wheels all the way to the right. Because of the cumbersome weight of the battery, you are probably better off givingyourself the extra working space by removing the wheel. Suppport the car properly with a jack stand. Don't rely on the car jack to hold up the car while you are Wrestling around with the battery.
Scan tool or unhook the battery.
I have a 2002 Sebring Limited Convertible and my battery is located and "accessable" on the driverside front wheel well. To change the battery you need to turn the wheel all the way to the right and remove a cover to expose the battery. Good Luck! it's no easy task!
