Rotate the globe about 2 inches counter clockwise as you are looking up at the fan. Some rotation will turn the entire fan, so ensure that the globe rotates relative to the fan body. The globe is very tight and needs to be pulled downward evenly. Pulling on the outer regions of the globe could break the globe, so apply a small, constant force to the connecting collar of the globe. Use a wooden spoon or screwdriver to move the globe collar down about 1/8 inch then rotate @ 90 degrees and repeat until the globe has gone down about 1/4 inch. Then pull down. The fan has a collar with four dimples around the circumference and the globe has four evenly spaced channels to accommodate the dimples.
