Inside the glove compartment -THERE ARE 2! The passenger cabin air filter is located inside the glove compartment. It is behind a flat, black plastic cover in the back on the left. I found out that this filter even existed because my air flow was obstructed; i.e., there was hardly any air coming out of the vents even at level 5. Take note: there is more than one filter! After you remove the cover, there is a door that you must open and remove, as well. Pull the first filter straight out like you pull out a drawer. In the 2005 model, the second filter is to the left - you must drag it to the right and then pull it straight out as you did the first one. IMPORTANT: Pay attention to the direction of the filters when you remove them: not only which side up, but also take note of the slant of the spongy ring that encircles the filter, as it is higher up on the filter along one side. It is important that you replace it in the same manner for maximum effectiveness at removing the air pollutants.
