Its behind the glovebox, you need to take the glove box out and maybe some other screws to get to it. just search subaru air cabin filter change on google and theres lots of pics and stuff.

Behind the glove box. You have to remove 7-9 screws & a piece of the paneling to get to it.
yes it does. It is a little hard to take out. If you have had this car for sometime and the cabin filter has not been changed it is probably very clogged up. If you are reasonably handy I would recommend going to your local Subaru parts dealer and buying a new filter. It comes with instructions on how to replace it
it's behind the glove box in a slot by the blower motor. Not the easiest to get to.
See "Replacing an Air Filter" under "Air Filtration System" on page 15 of chapter 4 "Climate Control" in your "OWNER'S MANUAL".....
Could be your cabin air filter. When was the last time you had it changed. See Air Filtration System, under Climate Control in your "Owner's Manual". (The filter is hidden behind the glove box.).....
I don't know, I trew mine out. My wife's grandpa didn't have a cabin filter in his car and died at the ripe age of 98.....
Looked today and I found a slot for a filter.. but no filter in the slot.. I think it might be an option...... how to here : http://personal.press.psu.edu/res122/cars/03Outback/PollenFilter/
