Disconnect the fan motor electrical connector. Unbolt the fan bracket and shroud assembly. Take the harness connector from the shroud. Lift the shroud out of the engine compartment. To separate the fan from the motor take loose the motor shaft clip. Remove the bracket from the fan motor by detatching the harness from the retainers then remove the mounting screws.
Remove the wiring harness from the back of your 1994 Chevy heater fan motor. Remove the heater fan motor retaining bolts. Remove the fan from the front of the heater motor. Reverse the process to install the new heater fan motor.

The connector on the electric fan assembly may be recessed in just a little making it difficult to lift/depress the tab on the plug that releases the harness.
It sounds like the resistor which is mounted under the dash in the heater box. There is a wire harness that plugs into it and two screws. Pretty easy to change part is about $50+ though. Check the harness sometimes it overheats and melts the plastic.
