Drain all oil from engine by removing plug in oil pan under the engine. Unscrew the old filter, have a pan ready to catch oil, it is screwed in vertically from the bottom, near the front of the engine, a little off to the passenger side. Fill the filter with new clean oil, then put a film of new, clean oil on the rubber 'O" ring or gasket on the new filter, just use your finger and spread a film of oil there. Screw the new one in until it makes contact with the block, than add about 1/2 to 3/4 more turn, nice and snug but DO NOT USE A WRENCH AND OVER TIGHTEN. Add new oil (I recommend synthetic) to engine in to filler cap put in about 3 1/2 quarts, wait 15 minutes. Check with dipstick and add as necessary, the engine holds 4.2 quarts with filter. Start and allow to run and check for leaks. Shut off, wait one half hour and check again with dipstick.
