While I have a 2008 Lancer, which has a different engine than your 2007, I believe the fuel system is the same.
While getting my oil changed a few months ago at a professional shop, I remember their computer spitting out the following: "Fuel filter is located inside of fuel pump. Complete fuel pump replacement necessary to replace fuel filter."
I'm sure this isn't the best news in the world, but it should get you pointed in the right direction.
