How do you change the fuel filter on a 1998 Toyota Camry?

The fuel filter is located under the hood on the driver side(somewhat hidden). Your 1998 would be the roughly the same location. Simply, unscrew both connections and replace. You might have to take other components to get to the filter. There is another "basket like filter" attached to the fuel pump inlet located in the gas tank. Be careful, take disconnect the battery connections before working with the fuel system...gas is highly flammable...

Actually the filter is on the left side under the battery and filter box. You need to disconnect the fuel pump and run the engine until it stalls. After that it's safe to disconnect the fuel lines. Otherwise you might end in the way you do not expect.
