To change the heater core in a 87 ford f150 is easy. Just remove the glove box and then behind it there is 7 bolts. After you remove the 7 bolts then just remove the cover and behind it is the heater core. By far the easiest heater core I ever changed.
if antifreez is blowing into cab, u need to replace the heater core the core has a hole in it. thses are not repairable and they are cheap to buy
Pay someone else. This is about a ten - 12 hour job and requires taking the entire dash assembly out.
Step one: Remove the dash, completely. Step two: remove the top half of the heater case. Step three: remove the heater hoses. Step four: replace the heater core, and Step five: reassemble everything. Good luck with step one.
Remove the inside cover of your glove box, 4 or 5 screws, then you will be at heater core cover, remove 7 screws from cover, and if you have disconnected your heater hoses, the heater core will pull right out. Just did mine thanksgiving day. 20 minute job
To change out the heater-core in a 1986 F-150, you must access the old heater-core through the glove box. You must remove the glove box by removing the screws that hold it in. Once this is accomplished, you must loosen the clamps on the hoses that are connected to the old heater-core unit. Then remove the hoses from the old heater-core and slide the old heater-core out through the opening where the glove box use to be. Install the new one using these instructions in reverse! Presto...installed! Mechanic Man
heater is not getting hot
