I need to change the rear driver side tail signal . I do not know how to get at the bulbs . Do I have to take the whole inside panel off?
It is the brake light switch. The 3rd light has a different switch. GoodluckJoe you can check under neith the bed for fire where they come together. if ther is fire it is the circuit board where your lights go. if there is no fire then its gonna be in the turn signal switch
Depending on the year, there may be one fuse for all three brake lights, or two fuses, one for the highmount brake light and one fuse for the two lower brake lights/tail lights. So, if all three brake lights are out, it could be just one fuse or perhaps the brake light switch which is on the brake pedal metal arm assembly.
Open the trunk. This will reveal two 10mm bolt heads on each side next to the light lenses. Remove the pertinent bolts. The entire assembly may now be detached from the body. There are two prongs on the outside edge of the assembly that pop out and into body mounts. Unscrew the bulb assembly desired and replace the bulb. Remount the assembly, insert the bolts and tighten. Done deal. To change the highmount, open the trunk. Under the area of the highmount brake light there should be a couple clips that hold it in place, push them and the module should release from the rear deck. This bulb should twist out.
