It indicates a fault between the key and the immobiliser. Usually a faulty key.
To remove a key that is stuck in the ignition on a Peugeot 406 HDI, make sure that the car is in park. Then try to remove the key. If this does not work, spray the ignition mechanism with WD-40 after pulling out the key as far as possible. Then work the key in and out until it comes out.
Insert key and turn to unlock or press unlock on the key fob if available. Press the button surrounding the key hole and the boot should open.
there is one unit attactch to the key barrel and plugs into the com 2000 unit (back of wiper /indicator arm )
Change battery at official dealer.
I tried this. I attached a vice to the flat surface of key and pulled really hard. It came out and I was able to snap the key into the new top. Note: You have to change the little dark chip into the new top too. You can prise it out with a tiny screwdriver.
Answerbatteries to peugeot cars have to be changed by the dealer as the key then has to be reprogrammed to each individual car. it is a pain in the backside as i used to work for peugeot. I took my key to the local car parts shop,he not only sold them but fitted them to.It was that easy.
well, I'm gussing it'sgonna have something to do with thescrew under the key, but I'm not sure past that I'm afraid!
It means your car gets low signal of the remote control ( key ), you have to change your key's batteries and the problem will be solved :)

The battery in your key fob has a very low charge .Change battery as soon as possible.
