Change your oil according to the manufacturer's recommendation or every 5,000 miles. Changing more often is a waste of oil and money. Purchase the correct weight of Premium oil of your choice, and a quality filter. More than likely 5w30 weight and 4.5 or 5 quarts with filter change. Read your owner's manual to be sure. Do not overfill!!! I use Pennzoil oil and Purolator filters and I have never had an internal engine problem using these products in 43 years. Crawl under the vehicle and remove the oil pan drain plug, with a socket or boxed end wrench, and drain all the oil into a container. Wipe the drain plug and plug hole with a clean rag, and replace the drain plug when all the oil has drained out. Tighten to about 12 ft/lbs of torque. Important: Do not over-tighten. Find and remove the oil filter, (turn counterclockwise). You may or may not need an oil filter wrench. Wipe the mounting surface clean. Important:Apply a thin coat of oil to the new filter's gasket and install the filter. When the filter makes contact with the mounting surface, turn it around 3/4 turn. Tighten it any more and it may leak or be very difficult to remove. Add the proper amount and correct weight oil by removing the oil fill cap, and using a funnel, pour in the oil. Dispose of the used oil at a recycle center or the place you bought the oil.
