Open the hood remove the shroud then unhook the transmission lines and radiator hoses then lift out the unit.
in the oil pan you have drain radiator and tranny fluids first
What size engine?
in my 88 astro van I had to completely break out the back handle to first get the door open then I was able to remove interior door cover to do thr replacement. in my 99 asto van I was able to remove the interior cover to open the door then replace the handle.
try checking the brakes, maybe axel or suspension
If yours is like my 88 astro the pump is in the top of the tank. most people will tell you to drop the tank to change it. i howeverever decided to cut a hole or trap door thru the bed of the van to reach it. it turned a 4 hr job into a 5 minute one. however be careful because there are gas lines and electrical lines going to the pump you could cut thru if youre not care ful.
I see no answer yet nov17 2012. I have same problem on 86 astro. Its got 66000 miles. Its not always noisy. Don't know what starts noise. It also sometimes jumps around past 60 mph. Don't know if oiling it will help.
There isin't one you just have to pull the lower radiator hose off.
Check for a vacuum leak or broken vacuum line first and if all is correct then you will need to check the a/c - heater controller..........
Follow the top radiator hose to the engine and find a bulborous part device the hose is attached to. The thermostat is inside there.
Should be a threaded hole at either the bottom or rear of the radiator
Drivers door sticker shows it is 205/75 R15
The rate of change, from 55 to 88 is 66%.
