You first remove the coolant overflow reservoir, just unbolt it and move it aside. You then unbolt the elec. device? found beneath the res. and set it aside so you can gain access to the motor mount. After placing a floor jack (with a piece of wood) under the oil pan you remove the motor mount bracket and carefully raise the engine about 2 inches in order to gain clearance to remove and reinstall the belt. Then you will need a belt tensioner wrench (you can rent one from O'Reilys). After releasing the tensioner the belt will come off readily. It's a good idea to replace the tensioner as well while you are there. Reinstallation is reverse of removal. I just did this job on my 99 GLS, and it's not as hard as it sounds, as long as you have a little mech. ability. This procedure applies to the 3.4L V-6, the 4 cyl. may be different.
