Get somebody to hold the shifter still while somebody twists and pulls the knob and it comes right off. Did it to mine yesterday. Good luck findin a new knob to fit it. Cause i couldnt!
Manual transmission is a stick shift. You have to manually change the gears using the shifter and the clutch.
Gear shifter or manual transmission.
You should just unscrew it off the shifter. It might be on there tight, but it should just screw off. I put the stock shifter knob on my B&M short throw shifter
it is possible but you will need to change more that just the transmission. You will need to get the ecm out of the other car or any gm that has a manual transmission and a 2.8. and change that out. early 90's cavalier would be the easiest since they made so many of them. you will also of course need the shifter and shifter linkage for a manual
Yes you can remove a manual transmission and replace it with an automatic. You will need to buy an aftermarket shifter kit of find a shifter for your vehicle from a junk yard. You will also either have to remove the clutch pedal or replace the pedal assembly
A His and Her shifter is where you can go from an auto shift to a manual shift with out having to change trans. and things like that.
Automatic or manual trans?
automatic or manual?
You don't.
A person can get an exploded diagram of the steering column shifter for this car in its maintenance manual. It can also be found in the repair manual.
It would be easier to buy a different car. You would need to change the trans, install a wiring harness for a manual, a computer for a manual, cut an extra hole in the firewall for the clutch master cylinder, mount the clutch pedal ( would have to make new brackets ), change the center console to a manual shifter, route the manuals shift cables.......
hold in the clutch
