Mark 8 97-98 Does not have Front shocks unless it has been altered from OEM,if this is the case Strut Masters carries the Strict, OE on this car is Air Bags
None but some people use the T-Bird springs and shocks.
Below is a link to the instructions for that installation.
no... the continental front suspension will not fit. i did some research about this for my 93... the suspension from a cougar or a thunderbird will bolt right in
Shocks and struts on a Mark 8 should typically be replaced every 50,000 to 100,000 miles, or sooner if you notice signs of wear such as excessive bouncing, poor handling, or fluid leakage. Additionally, if you experience a rough ride or hear unusual noises while driving, it may indicate that the shocks or struts need to be replaced. Regular inspections during routine maintenance can help determine their condition and when a replacement is necessary.
Yes they will
there is a kit available. the last place i saw it was in a jc Whitney catalog. mark 8 is a beautiful car but problems with the air ride stink I have a 93 Lincoln Mark8 and it has thunderbird shocks on it.
To disassemble air shocks on a Lincoln Mark VIII, start by safely raising the vehicle and removing the rear wheel for better access. Disconnect the air lines from the shocks and remove any mounting bolts securing the shocks to the vehicle. Carefully detach the shocks from the suspension components, and then slowly release any remaining air pressure from the shocks. Finally, remove the shock assembly from the vehicle, taking care to note the orientation for reassembly.
if i was to fix suspension by adding shocks, i would use air shocks to compensate for the air ride
not recommended unless you have a lot of money. You need to change front springs and shocks to support the extra weight. Motor mounts, transmission mounts, transmission, driveshaft, rear end, rear springs and shocks to take extra torque, computers need to be changed to program v-8 instead of 4 cylinder, Exhaust and catalytic converter need to be changed.
Go to Strutmasters.com. They offer a conversion kit and it comes with instructions on how to convert from Airbags to springs.
The clutch is mounted on the front of the A/C compressor.
Passenger side behind the front wheel well liner.
