It is not too difficult. a lot easier than the clutch master cylinder; it is located on the lower front driver side of the engine; it is fed by the clutch master cylinder which is fed by the brake master cylinder; follow the lines and you will see it. You will need a flare nut wrench to disconnect the line. Then it simply unbolts fom the engine. Replace with new part, reconnect line, and bleed the air out. There is a bleeder fitting on the slave cylinder. Make sure to get all the air out of the line to prevent a weak pedal that could cause difficulty in shifting gears.
How do you change a slave cylinder on a 1995 Mazda B2300 2wd?
On the passanger side bellhousing.
Inside bell housing. Transmission has to be removed to gain access to the slave cylinder/throw-out bearing.
You will have to remove the transmission since the slave cylinder on the 91 yj is inside the bellhousing.
The clutch slave cylinder is probably at fault. Replacement is necessary to fix problem. Transmission must be removed to gain access to the slave cylinder.
On the firewall , driver side.
BAD clutch slave cylinder, wore out clutch and pressure plate.
lossen belt tentioner
According to my Chilton's Auto Repair Manual : A 1991 Ford Escort , 1.9 liter four cylinder engine takes : ( 4.0 U.S. quarts with engine oil filter change )
According to one of Fords websites : For a 1991 Ford Escort : 1.9 liter four cylinder engine ( the spark plugs are gapped at .054 inch ) 1.8 ( .044 inch )
I'm pretty sure that on that vehicle the slave cylinder is located inside the transmssion which means the transmission must be removed to replace it
bleed it the same way u bleed the brakes
