let the engine cool down if hot,protection for eyes, proper tools, open hood remove screws,once apart clean off /remove old gasket ,clean both the cover/block.apply gasket maker high temp/oil resistant/then apply gasket carefully make sure it lines up properly then start to tighten down bolts not too tight at first leave room to adjust to fit /allign the bolts tighten to specific manufacture requirements.
Remove the valve cover. Peel off the old valve cover gasket. Clean the valve cover gasket surface. Insert the new valve cover gasket.
It is molded into the head cover.
