I've changed them on my 97 4cyl, almost exact same truck, 2wd. pull off wheels, remove brake pads caliper and rotor, behind metal plate should be 4 bolts on top of ball joint and one below with cotter pin and nut, remove these. next, use ball joint seperator (fork type or auto zone loans out pro kit) to remove ball joints. install new ball joint, reassembly is reverse.
Remove wheel hub, remove the 4 bolts holding the ball joint in place, heat it up with a torch, then bash the crap out of with a hammer til the ball joint pops out.
u can't just change the upper ball joint, u have to change the whole upper control arm. It is welded to the arm in one piece.
A 2004 Chrysler Town and Country does not have an upper ball joint.
Look in a removable housing at the engine end of the upper radiator hose
You have to change the upper control arm.
how do you change the upper and lower ball joint on a 95 s10 pick up truck 4 cylinder rear wheel drive
yes Yes, this is a good idea as both parts have taken the same amount of strain.
if it is original the upper ball joint is riveted in, it will need to be chisel out, there are four rivets and then the nut that holds it to the control arm.new ball joint will come with bolts and nuts
PCV valve is located under the hood, center, upper engine area, mounted in intake manifold.
Remove driveshaft nut, remove kingpin grease cap and remove 17mm nut.Lever down kingpin from upper arm and remove driveshaft from hub.Hammer c.v. joint off shaft( inner circlip).
what i know you can't take that ball joint to upper control arm but if you buy the upper control arm the ball joint comes with it.
The upper arm is the humerus, the lower arm is made up of the radius and ulna. The joint connecting the upper is called the humeroulnar joint.
