To change tab color in Firefox 4.0, you need to install an add-on called 'ColorfulTab'. Next, look for Firefox 4.0 version and then click on "Install" button located just below the name of the required version. After downloading the add-on, a dialog box appears asking whether or not to install the add-on. Click on "Install" button. The add-on will be installed in few seconds. Now restart Firefox and the tab color will be automatically changed.
