I have found on any computer, be on the desktop, right mouse click and there will be an opportunity to do it there. On mine it is PERSONALIZE. Some just say change background.
Also can go to control panel to adjust and add to your background. Desktop the easiest.

Your notebook motherboard fan could be faulty....and another cause is there is too much dust gathered in your fan reducing the turning speed thus unable to dissipate heat as effiecient as it used to be. Solutions: change a new notebook fan or get those exter notebook fan ,hope it helps.
