if your trying to recharge your ac on a 1994 thru 2000 Cadillac 4.9 and the comprsser wont turn on due the the low level dissconnect your battery and take the positive lead and touch it to the ground of the battery (this will reset your computer) hook up your recharge kit and start the car put the ac. on the coldest setting and shake the can up and down this makes it charge faster. but be aware make sure your charging kit has a gage if the gage goes into the red disconnect and stand away from the car theres a clog in your ling or somthings not right shut off the car and bring it to a repair shop and let them do it
== == Was built with r12, can be converted to r134a.
It depends on the vehicle but most of the time you can jumper the low pressure switch....
freon R134A - MAY NEED RETROFITTING (LINE ADAPTERS FROM R12 TO R134A) MOST COST ABOUT $15.00. COMPLETE CHARGE SHOULD COST ABOUT $145.00.
By buying an AC charge hose and a can or 2 of R134a freon (depending on how much your car needs) Attach hose to the low pressure side & charge system. Do not overcharge, or you may destroy the AC system.
how much r134a charge for bus chevy chapion
I have an 88 that originally used R-12 refridgerant. I now charge it with R134a with no problems. I didn't flush the system, I just started using the R134a one year when my stash of R-12 was gone. Works great.
Go to autozone and get a manifold vacuum ac gauge for R134a. Ofcoarse, also pick up a can of R134a. Hook up the gauges to the valves on the AC hoses. Add the refrigerant but watch the pressure on the gauge!! Any good manual will tell you the max pressure for the system.
you may be low on freon and jsut need a good charge of R134a
