This procedure depends on whether the transmission is an automatic or manual (stick-shift). The automatic has a dip-stick and fill tube at the back of the engine, (accessed from under the hood). Check fluid level with the dip-stick. Have truck in PARK and engine running after warmed up. Use a funnel to fill. The manual has NO dip-stick but may have a plug (large- headed threaded bolt ) that you can remove in the side of the tranny and physically check: if fluid runs or drips out, it is full. If no fluid comes out it may mean it is near full ; just a little low hopefullly. You will have to go under the truck to do this. Check the manual tranny with the engine off. You can add manual Transmission Fluid by using a "squeeze" type bottle of which the fill-tip will fit in the plug hole. Make sure you use the correct type of fluid in the automatic or manual as specified by Ford. This is very important because it directly affects how the systems operate.
