You'll need to run a compression test on all cylinders. Pull all the plugs and then remove the 15 amp fuel injection fuse. The compression tool should screw into each plug hole one at a time and spin the engine at least 5 revolutions. All readings should be within 20 psi of each other. Somewhere around 120-150 psi should be normal but even if they are lower they should be consistent. If you broke your timing belt, the 1991 is an interference engine. Even if it didnt bend when it broke, chances are good that a valve came in contact with a piston or two when you tried to start it after it broke. I have seen no damage before but only a couple times. Another test would be a vacuum test. You should have 15-20 lbs of steady vacuum at an idle. If you goose the throttle it should drop to 5 and then recover to a little over 20. If your belt broke you'll have to replace it to perform these tests. In my opinion it is cheaper to install a JDM motor rather than do a valve job on a high mileage engine, they are the hot new replacement motors and they are cheap and everywhere.
A 1991 Honda Accord LX has knock sensors which detect incorrect ignition timing. The knocking occurs when the valves open at the wrong time.
Because the Accord 1991 has an interference engine, the pistons will hit the valves and either bend them or break them or both if the timing belt breaks.

If the injectors on a 1991 Honda Accord are working well than proceed to check the main relay and fuel filter. Replace the components if they are worn and check the engine with a diagnostic test.
