The fuel pressure gauge will help you check the fuel pressure in a 1997 Sunfire. When the pressure is low their is a repair manual which advises on what steps to take.
you need a fuel pressure tester to do it but i would check your o-rings on your fuel injectors first they could be old and starting to crack thus the smell of gas. but first check all fuel connection mak sure they are all tight. hope this helps zorro
