You gotta smack it with your shoe.
Probably the wheel speed sensor. Check the connector. If connection is good then the sensor may have been damaged or it has failed.
If the speedometer/odometer is working, chances are the VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor) is good.
This code indicates a problem with the vehicle speed sensor. Check the wiring and if it is good replace the vehicle speed sensor.
my speed sensor on my hardbody was a simple bolt off/bolt on sensor attached to the abs. It took removing the wheel, hub assembly (which needed packing anyways), rotor and calipers to reach it. good luck
Most likely the front wheel balance is at 40-50 and the rear wheel is at 60-65 Check these first at a good tyre dealer. Also check wheel alignment.
Check out a good Public Library.
chances are its either worn brakes or possibly a wheel speed sensor...good luck!!
Check the transmission fluid first. If the fluid is fine, check the Speed Control Sensor. This happened to me yesterday, and computer diognostics showed it to be the Speed Control Sensor had gone bad. Fluid is a good place to start. Make sure you change it IAW your owners manual or service professional. If it is within correct range get the fly wheel checked if a manual, if automatic it still may be the flywheel but also check your cabling depending on where it was made.
Check the abs wheel speed sensors. Or the abs module could be bad
The FIRST thing I'd check would be the CV joints. If that's not it, have a good "front end" specialist check it out.
If it is bad the check engine light will come on and set a code for that particular sensor.
There are several speed 'sensor'(s) in the Solara (and most modern cars). They range from a sensor that determines how quickly you're turning the steering wheel to the speed of each rolling wheel. A trouble code will tell you where to look. I'd suggest you determine what you need then call an auto supply store for specific pricing in your area. Keep in mind, if you've gotten a trouble code for the anti-lock system, many things can cause the speed sensors to code. One or more may simply be dirty. If your anti-lock light came on right after having brake work done there's a good chance the sensor was damaged during that work. Return the car to the shop where the work was done and complain. And finally, a troublesome wheel speed sensor can cause other issues with the car from goofy low speed stopping to inoperative speedometer. Cheers
