Bottom left side of your engine face (looking from directly above engine bay) your dipstick(metal ring with metal stick attached) is located between some thin tubes and the engine block. pull on ring which will bring out rest of the dipstick. wipe off end of stick with towel. replace dipstick, remove and check levels on stick.
if you use incorrect oil , type weight , and insufficient oil changes , and time. approx 200k on a turbo is a long time ,
if your turbo is damaged then BIG no. Thru your turbo goes coolant and oil. I've seen dead saabs that got engine damaged because the turbo blew and all the oil leaked out.
Saab 9-5 2.3 turbo Engine code B235E Quantity with filter 4.0Ltrs.
Always use synthetic.
the turbos shot,i had a problem with my saab it was the pcv valve made it suck oil out of the pan, smoked real bad
try taking off the oil filler cap at the top of the engine...on my '95 turbo 900s that's where it was, the oil stick was attached to the oil filler cap.
turbos are cooled with oil and that oil is supplied from oil pressure lines. check out the turbo and trace the lines; they should return to the oil pan.
How do you check the clutch oil on a cr250 2001?
A high quality synthetic 5w30 & 5w40. Mobil 1 0w40 is the best. The turbo in your car will destroy "dino" oil. Check your owners manual or the dealer for local climate condition recommendations
Saab 9-3 years 2001 2003 and prob others should ONLY run on fully synthentic oil. Theres a design problem that causes sludge and any other oils only contribute to the sludge.

I did check the oil level when the car was returned a couple of weeks ago and noticed that the level was on max, I've checked again and dont think the level has dropped any, not sure if this indicates that its not burning oil? all other levels are also ok.
