Assuming that this is a manual gearbox most Renault models have a plastic butterfly bolt located on the front of the gearbox this is the filler/level plug
Please guide me on were i can check the gearbox oil level on my 2001 manual 16v Renault 1.4 clio?
Check to see if it have a sight glass on the accumulator/drier some do.
Remove the oil filler cap and there should be a dipstick attached to the cap

this is sometimes due to a slightly low brake fluid level, sometimes happens with me when pulling away with steering applied
While engine is off, remove oil dipstick, wipe oil off with rag, then insert it, remove it and look at level (dipstick will have minimum and maximum points).
oil level in sump
check the fluid level by removing the plug on top if it is low or mt replenish with spec fluid
To check and see if your brake fluid level is low, locate the brake fluid reservoir. If the level of the fluid does not reach the 'full' line on the reservoir, add some.
