Park on level ground, after the vehicle has been driven and is up to operating temperature. Remove the transmission dipstick (not the oil dipstick), wipe it clean and reinsert. Pull the stick again, and check by the mark that says full. If fluid is low use a funnel to add fluid in small amounts into the dipstick tube.
